A sample of audio recordings & quicktime movies
'Nothing' means so much more in a place like Pekina. On our first night, we drove in late and sat on the front verandah with FTR and Glen. We cooled down with the incoming breeze and drank a bottle of wine under the dark sky.
This is a short excerpt from the RealAudio performance we did on Sunday 25/1/99. There were nine nervous_objects in the hall and anne's sounds from NY we're playing on a marantz tape recorder.
Here is an unprocessed sound Joyce, Anita and Leesa recorded of a fence wire in the front paddock of Malcolm's hall. The sound was produced by tapping the wire with varying intensity......'Between two points there is vibration'.
'Buy genuine green frog fun novelties'. Vi thought about buying this matchbox holder from the antique store at Orroroo, but I got it first. Here are some of her processed sounds to go with it.
Almost every day I noticed an intense light filtering in through the doors and windows. A dry, crisp heat with the movement of air blowing sounds in every direction. I made sure to go out early one evening and record the sound of a local windmill. A hard sound to record; wind resonating and turning through rusty old metal.
A big black spider spun it's web and lived with us for a time out on the back verandah. Vi found some long fingernails and had a dance with it.
In keeping with my morbid fascination that first day in Pekina we found a 'freshly killed' fox on the road. Leesa and I brought it back to the property and lay it out the back. I kept on dreaming of death and wanted to use the IBVA so I made this one up for continuity.
